its a dell latitude 8450.
it was incredibly hard to get it up to date with full drivers, as both dell and intel's official drivers were garbage, and only about a quarter of the official dell drivers worked. after searching i got basically everything except for graphics drivers.
now, prior it was hard, but trying to get those drivers for the thing's intel core i5 7g to work was hell. i spent literally most of my day yesterday checking random of the era intel hd drivers and none of them worked. going to discord for help in a community, this pretty cool guy gave me a chinese repack of some 7th gen i5 era intel drivers. low and behold, it worked!
fully up and running.
whats really strange, is that this laptop is said by dell to have official 7 support
as for the laptop itself, my father works at a university, and the laptop was used in work spaces at said university. it had been decommissioned and wiped completely, which then my father gave it to me from there.
i took one of my usbs, and shoved a windows 7 iso in there, and then everything listed above happened. (меньше)
